Natural coffee processing is the oldest method among coffee processing method. It is the most convenient method for smallholder coffee farmers to process coffee. This method is common in regions where there is no access to water.

The learning outcomes are as follow;

  • To understand that the farmers could produce the best quality coffee by using this method

  • To be aware that this method is the most appropriate method for smallholder farmers/farmer groups

Washed Coffee Processing Method

Washed coffee processing method is the most popular method in the world wide. It requires more water and more facilities than other processing method so it is more expensive for farmers and producers.

The learning outcomes are as follow;

  • To understand the processes of this method

  • To understand that coffee could be produced more volume as consistently and coffee could be produced the best quality by using this method

  • To understand that this method is the most appropriate method for the estate farmers and the processors who could invest the large financial

Khun Kyaw Min Hitke has several years of experience as an Agronomist and Coffee Plantation Trainer and Adviser for Coffee farmers Cluster mainly in Ho Pone Region, Shan State. Khun has served as Program Officer at Winrock International, Coffee Extensionist at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Field Officer at Link Emergency Aid & Development and Agronomist at Link Emergency Aid & Development. Khun is serving a lot for Coffee farmers development – mainly for ethnic farmers by offering seasoned on-demand assistances for their firms advisory.

Khun Kyaw Min Htike holds B.Agr.Sc (Plant Pathology) from Yezin Agricultural University.
