Coffee Cupping Essentials

Cupping is an essential practice across the value chain of coffee. Even though they are cupped for essentially different intentions but quality is that one unified reason for doing it. With that, cupping requires a protocol that can consistently be applied to evaluate a coffee’s characteristics in an independent and non-bias manner. How is it done, how can we work on our improving our palate for it, and critically how has it been adapted in this existing COVID-19 times, it will be covered here in this ‘Coffee Cupping’ episode of ‘Coffee Excellence’.

A Q Arabica Grader and Q Level 2 Processing Professional, Javier has judged in numerous coffee harvest competitions and barista
competitions in Myanmar. He was also a judge in ASEAN’s very first ACID ASEAN Coffee Brewers Cup held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2019.
